Portways for Our Children is a collection of works by Jaclyn Trecartin McADAM
It honours childhood and advocates for the protection of children.
The term “portway” or “port way” often is used to refer to a main road between
two market towns. For this collection, it is referring to two things: in medical
treatments the port is used to infuse medicine and healing as well a nod to the
latin root of “port,” which is haven. Each piece was begun with this intent,
unfolding into the collection presented.
It showed May-June 2024 via Third Space Gallery
(Saint John, NB).
